BitTorrent Inc. launches BTFS Protocol v3.2.0 Beta, introducing significant updates including CID filtering, resource summaries, and file modification timestamps.

The BitTorrent File System (BTFS) has announced the release of its latest version, v3.2.0 Beta, bringing a suite of enhancements aimed at improving user experience and network efficiency. According to BitTorrent Inc., the new update introduces several key upgrades designed to refine the decentralized file system and enhance its functionality.

Key Upgrades in v3.2.0 Beta

The latest release of the BTFS protocol includes significant improvements, such as the implementation of BTIP-79, which allows for the filtering of Content Identifiers (CIDs) when accessed through the gateway. This feature is expected to streamline the process of managing digital content within the network.

Additionally, the update provides a comprehensive resource summary for the libp2p resource manager, giving users a detailed overview of the resources utilized. Another notable enhancement is the inclusion of modification timestamps for files stored in the Mutable File System (MFS), allowing users to keep track of the most recent edits.

Resources and Community Engagement

To support the adoption and deployment of BTFS v3.2.0 Beta, BitTorrent has made available several resources. The GitHub repository for the beta version can be accessed by developers, and a dedicated BTFS Dashboard repository is also provided. Users can visit the official BTFS website and BTFS SCAN for further documentation and insights into the new version.

The BTFS team continues to engage with its community through various platforms. Users and developers are encouraged to connect on Discord, Medium, and X (formerly Twitter) to share insights, ask questions, and collaborate on future developments.
