Metaplanet Adds 1,005 Bitcoin To Reach 13,350 Total Holdings

Metaplanet Inc. has added 1,005 Bitcoin to its balance sheet, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 13,350.

The latest purchase was valued at ¥15.648 billion, with an average acquisition cost of ¥15.57 million per Bitcoin.

The company's performance metric, BTC Yield—defined as Bitcoin per fully diluted share—has reached 129.4% quarter-to-date.

This figure reflects a BTC Gain of 5,237 and a hypothetical ¥81.8 billion gain in Bitcoin-denominated value.

The acquisition forms part of Metaplanet’s ambitious “555 Million Plan,” which targets the accumulation of 210,000 Bitcoin, roughly 1% of the total supply, by 2027.

This initiative replaces the firm’s previous 21,000 Bitcoin goal under the “21 Million Plan.”

To support this expansion, Metaplanet has raised ¥30 billion through the issuance of its 19th Series of Bonds, with proceeds earmarked for additional Bitcoin purchases.

The company has updated its broader funding roadmap to increase redemptions to ¥72.3 billion and now plans to allocate ¥673.6 billion toward Bitcoin acquisition through 2027.

“On June 30th, 2025, the Company issued the 19th Series of zero-coupon, non-interest-bearing Ordinary Bonds to EVO FUND… to acquire additional Bitcoin. The bonds are scheduled to mature on December 29th, 2025, with early redemption options available to both parties and linked to the exercise of the Company’s 20th to 22nd Series of Stock Acquisition Rights.”

As of the end of June, Metaplanet’s outstanding common shares have risen above 654.7 million, a result of its ongoing strategy to finance Bitcoin acquisitions through equity issuance, underscoring its long-term commitment to Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
