ElevenLabs launches its voice AI technology in South Korea, leveraging the country’s advanced tech infrastructure, to enhance natural communication between humans and machines.

ElevenLabs, a company founded in London in 2022, is making strides in the field of artificial intelligence by expanding its operations into South Korea, one of the most technologically advanced and connected countries in the world. The expansion is part of ElevenLabs’ mission to make communication between people and machines feel natural across various languages, as reported by ElevenLabs.

Why South Korea?

South Korea is renowned for its rapid technological advancements and high standards for digital products. With more than 65% of large companies in Korea already incorporating AI, and a significant portion of the workforce utilizing generative AI daily, the nation is poised as a pivotal market for AI development. The South Korean government has also pledged substantial funding to make the country a global leader in AI technology.

Besides its technological prowess, South Korea is a cultural hub, influencing global trends through industries like K-pop and K-drama. This makes it an ideal testing ground for ElevenLabs to showcase the potential of its AI solutions.

Innovative AI Solutions

ElevenLabs offers a comprehensive suite of AI-driven audio solutions, including text-to-speech, speech-to-text, dubbing, voice cloning, and sound design. These technologies support over 70 languages, capturing tone and emotion with high fidelity. The company’s Agent Platform integrates speech recognition, generation, and reasoning, enabling seamless natural conversations with minimal latency.

This platform has already demonstrated its efficacy, with a major digital bank automating half of its credit card inquiries, reducing handling time by 85% within just two months of implementation. The platform supports over 7,000 voices and 32 languages, making it a versatile tool for various industries.

Future Prospects

Looking ahead, ElevenLabs envisions a future where AI audio technology transcends speech, allowing devices to understand not just what is said, but how it is said. Real-time translation and dubbing could eliminate language barriers, while the integration of voice with image and video could create new immersive experiences.

Collaboration with Korean Partners

Under the leadership of Korea Country Lead Sangwon Hong, ElevenLabs is collaborating with prominent Korean companies like MBC C&I, ESTsoft, Krafton, and SBS. These partnerships aim to position South Korea as a central hub for voice AI innovation in Asia.

ElevenLabs is also committed to ethical AI use through its 3C Framework, which ensures consent, control, and compensation in AI applications, promoting responsible technology deployment.

As ElevenLabs establishes its presence in South Korea, the company is eager to learn from and grow with the local tech ecosystem, contributing to the pace of innovation in the region.
