The non-fungible token market has begun to show signs of life after suffering a brutal market meltdown that left many non-fungible token collections nearly dormant. The non-fungible token market began to develop cracks sometime in November, after trading sales volume and floor prices plummeted to their lowest levels since the peak season in January. OpenSea has recently acquired over $1 million worth of NFTs, solidifying the fact that the NFT market is rebounding.
OpenSea Sweeps +$1M Worth of NFTs
On December 16, reports confirmed that OpenSea had acquired non-fungible token collections worth $1 million. OpenSea is the world’s largest decentralized marketplace for non-fungible tokens, enabling users to create, buy, sell, and trade unique digital assets, including art, collectibles, virtual land, and in-game items. OpenSea supports more than 20 blockchains, including Polygon and Ethereum.

OpenSea Stirs Mixed Speculations
The NFT marketplace OpenSea has stirred mixed reactions among non-fungible token collectors and traders on x (previously Twitter) with its bulk purchase of NFT collections. Some X traders have opined that the NFT market platform could be preparing to make gains after launching its highly anticipated SEA airdrop. Another trader on X has opined that OpenSea might be preparing to gift its users this Christmas season.
