Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has expressed a strong conviction that AI agents will become the largest users of cryptocurrency, potentially executing far more transactions than humans and accelerating blockchain adoption.
In a recent discussion, CZ highlighted that AI agents could transact 10, 100, or even 1,000 times more frequently than people. These autonomous systems are unlikely to rely heavily on traditional rails like Swift or Visa for cross-border payments, where crypto offers clear advantages in speed and simplicity when dealing with counterparties worldwide.
CZ also noted AI’s role in accelerating development, enabling faster code generation, and enabling more user-friendly wallets and enhanced security features, which could bring new applications to market more quickly.
Meanwhile, new data shows Solana hosting a commanding share of the emerging AI agent ecosystem.
According to analysis shared by Milk Road, 63% of all active AI agent wallets operate on Solana, with the network currently powering 109,600 active agent sender wallets. The remaining 37% is spread across all other chains combined.

Bots and payment agents naturally gravitate toward chains that deliver low-cost and high-speed execution suited to frequent, automated activity.
Observers point to a potential self-reinforcing flywheel: as more agents cluster on one network, liquidity improves, which in turn attracts even more agents and further deepens liquidity. This dynamic is currently taking shape in the market as a significant opportunity.
The comments come as Solana faces near-term pressure. The token fell 5.12% over the past 24 hours to $90.80, underperforming Bitcoin’s more modest 2.01% decline amid a broader risk-off move across crypto markets.
Despite the short-term price action, CZ’s remarks and the concentration of AI agent activity on Solana point to growing expectations that autonomous AI systems could fuel the next wave of on-chain usage and infrastructure demand. Many in the industry are now watching whether this early lead on Solana translates into sustained dominance as the sector matures.
