The personal, financial and health information of 53,888 people may have been exposed after bad actors breached a Mississippi healthcare firm.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, Singing River Health System reported a hacking incident affecting 53,888 individuals, with the breach involving a network server.

In a notice posted on its website, Singing River says it discovered unauthorized access to its network and immediately launched an investigation with third-party cybersecurity specialists. The healthcare provider also notified law enforcement.

The investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed Singing River’s systems between December 19 and December 21, 2025. The company says it later learned on February 10, 2026 that files containing patient information had been accessed.

According to the notice, the potentially exposed information may include names along with one or more of the following: contact information, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, bank account information, health insurance information, provider names, patient identification numbers, dates of service, medication information and treatment or diagnostic information.

In response to the incident, Singing River says it is continuing to evaluate and strengthen its cybersecurity safeguards and provide additional security training to employees. The healthcare provider has also established a dedicated call center to assist affected individuals.
