An Interview with Aztec Amaya — The Man Behind Many Things

At Live Bitcoin News, we attempt to introduce our readers to who’s who in the crypto industry. Recently, we had an opportunity to interact with Aztec Amaya, the Chief Strategy Officer at Lunar Digital Assets, among many other things. Here are few questions we asked and the responses we received in return.

Q: Can you let us know what got you into this industry segment?

A: I’ve been incubating teams for more than five years now alongside Lunar Digital Assets. Initially, I became involved to help incubate Polygon because I was a fan of what they were building. But, I’ve stayed to make my mark within the industry.

Q: You have played a vital role in the Polygon ecosystem. Would you care to elaborate on the things you did and everything you helped the ecosystem achieve?

A: Initially, I assisted with their marketing. Then, I worked alongside Lunar Digital Assets to incubate QuickSwap, the largest DEX on Polygon, and then kicked off DeFi Summer.

Additionally, I contributed to the rebrand idea by providing my research for why Matic Network needed to rebrand. Matic rebranded to Polygon and quickly raised over 400 million on the new idea, vision, and roadmap. The rest is history.

Recently, I launched Tesseract which integrated Polygon grant recipients into the ecosystem. We now work closely with those grant recipients to ensure their overall success.

Q: Why Lunar Digital Assets and what is your role there?

A: I’m the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Lunar Digital Assets. I have chosen to stay with LDA because the company has offered me many opportunities to work on and lead a wide variety of different projects over the years.

Additionally, they have enabled me to tap into my creative side and help shape the future of the crypto industry. Many of us in the company wear many different hats. I’ve worked on everything from base-level marketing to internal growth and strategy.

One opportunity I was not expecting was to become the co-host of the very successful X space/show called “The Aggregated”. We have 3-hour-long conversations with the crypto industry’s top media, influencers, CEOs, and countless different types of projects every Friday, while an average of 20k-100k listen to us all discuss and debate varied topics. This show has helped many teams, along with the entire industry, acquire a lot more awareness overall. It’s very fun to be a part of overall, something to look forward to each week, and something I did not originally foresee when first starting in Web3.

Q: Can you let us know how you have contributed to LDA’s growth?

A: When I started, there were only eight members. I played a large part in interviewing and bringing in talented new team members. Also, I’ve worked alongside the other executives to strategically and positively position the company.

Q: Can you also tell us about the LitVM project?

A: LitVM is Litecoin’s zk Omnichain. We’re building hard money web3. It empowers Litecoin with all the utility web3 tech offers to create more demand for hard money.

We’re working alongside the Gateway (Ethereum zk Rollup side) and BitcoinOS (Litecoin zk Rollup side) teams. They are both pioneers and tested, tried, and proven zk Champs. We also have many other blockchain OGs who are all working together to bring everything to fruition. We’re all very excited and enthusiastic about the potential and what the future holds for Litecoin and LitVM because of it all.

Q: How does building zk Omnichain on the Litecoin blockchain protocol help the ecosystem as a whole?

A: Ultimately, hard money is the soul of our industry and what kicked off our movement. We’re now giving back by empowering this large community with the ability to participate in things like DeFi, advanced payments, real-world assets backed by Litecoin, and to continue building upon the vibrant culture already established in a native and trustless manner.

Q: Any new announcements we should watch out for in the near future?

A: We recently unveiled LitVM at the Litecoin Summit in May. At the moment, we’re making as much noise as possible to get people’s attention via our X account and distribution network. We want as many people to be enthusiastic and a part of this all as possible. I would follow and join us on our X account as we continue to share new updates leading up to our upcoming testnet, other news, and to be a part of the larger community that is forming around it all.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to let our readers know?

A: Many projects have a dream. We have a plan and years of experience in developing projects. LitVM will have product market fit, real revenue, based utility, and an epic community like what we’ve done with QuickSwap and our community there overall. Satoshi kicked off hard money, we’re kicking off the hard money web3 rebellion. Join us!!!!!
