BlackRock, Tether’s CEO, B3, and Binance at the Blockchain Conference Brazil

BlackRock, Tether’s CEO, B3, and Binance at the Blockchain Conference Brazil

Executives from Visa, B3, Binance, Truther, and Tools for Humanity are among the speakers already confirmed for the 2025 edition of Blockchain Conference Brazil (BCB).

On November 28–29, São Paulo will host the country’s largest gathering of government leaders, the crypto industry, developers, and enthusiasts of the emerging global digital economy.

One of the headline speakers is Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin. According to CoinMarketCap, Tether has nearly $183 billion in market capitalization — putting its financial “size” on par with major global corporations and illustrating the growing weight of stablecoins in both the crypto and traditional financial systems.

It is important to note that Tether is not a publicly traded company. Most of the world’s largest public companies have market caps between $200 billion and $300 billion. Bloomberg reports that Tether Holdings is currently valued at around $500 billion after seeking a private fundraising round of $15–20 billion, a figure that surpasses — combined — the valuation of Brazil’s major corporations such as Petrobras, Itaú, Vale, BTG Pactual, Ambev, and Banco do Brasil.

It is in this context that Ardoino will travel to São Paulo for the Blockchain Conference Brazil.

BlackRock to Discuss Digital Asset Allocation in the Era of Tokenization

Another major name from the TradFi industry on stage will be Cristiano Castro.
An economist with experience at BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Itaú Unibanco Asset Management, Citibank, and Ambev, Castro currently leads Wealth Management and Institutional client relations at BlackRock in Brazil.

BlackRock’s Director of Business Development in the country will speak on the topic:
“Digital Asset Allocation: Reshaping the Financial System and Investment Portfolios.”

BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager. Its Brazil CEO, Bruno Barino, recently stated that “investing in cryptocurrencies is a reality, and there is no reason to ignore it.”

The company manages trillions of dollars in assets for millions of clients worldwide, including in Brazil.

B3’s 2025 Annual ETF Report Signals a New Phase of Innovation

On Thursday (13), B3 released the 2025 Annual ETF Report, highlighting a profound transformation in Brazil’s index-fund market.

According to the Brazilian exchange, the ETF industry has surpassed R$ 75 billion in assets under management, with more than 850,000 investors, 81% of whom are retail investors.

The report concludes that Brazil has entered a new phase — moving from “democratization” of access to “accessible sophistication” — and highlights a record year for product innovation in 2025.

B3 now lists 19 crypto-related products, including ETFs and ETF BDRs tracking Bitcoin, Ether, and other crypto indexes. The first of these was HASH11, launched in April 2021.
As of April 2025, crypto ETFs and funds on B3 held approximately R$ 13.7 billion in net assets.

During the panel “Crypto ETFs and Funds: The Engine of Institutional Adoption,” Felipe Gonçalves (B3) will share the stage with Samir Kerbage (Global CIO, Hashdex) and Fernando Carvalho (CEO, QR Capital).

Binance Research Highlights Payment Tokens and Privacy Coins

A new Binance Research report released on Tuesday (11) highlighted three major trends for November 2025:

  • rapid adoption of the x402 payment protocol,
  • significant growth in privacy coins, with Zcash surpassing Monero, and
  • challenges facing AI-driven trading models, mainly due to poor risk management.

The report also notes that the crypto market fell 6.1% in October, despite higher Bitcoin dominance and strong institutional interest in Ethereum. Even after a historic liquidation, leverage quickly recovered, and there were no signs of panic among professional investors.

According to Binance’s research team, these developments “show how these movements are shaping the global crypto market.”

Guilherme Nazar, Binance’s Regional VP for Latin America, will speak on the main stage of BCB about the role of the crypto industry in today’s global economy.

Tools for Humanity and Industry Leaders Reinforce BCB’s Importance

Rocelo Lopes — in crypto since 2013 and one of Brazil’s early pioneers — is a master sponsor of the conference. He explains why supporting BCB is crucial:

“Events like this help people learn and understand more about the ecosystem — who the builders are, which companies are leading. The quality and volume of content generated at a conference like this help grow the market.”

Tools for Humanity, another key player shaping the global crypto sector, is also sponsoring the event. Juliana Felippe, TFH’s Brazil Country Director, will address privacy and the future of digital wallets, including password-free authentication using hash-based identity and proof of humanity.

She states:

“We believe blockchain-based solutions bring security, innovation, and trust to the internet — especially to the World ID protocol. Brazil is a major tech hub, and it makes perfect sense to be here exchanging ideas with partners who share this vision.”

Felipe Escudero, one of the minds behind BCB, adds:

“Brazil is poised to lead the next wave of crypto adoption. The BCB acts as both showcase and catalyst — connecting local innovation with global players ready to build here.”
