Ethereum Treasuries Are Eyeing a Purchase Window, Says Standard Chartered | US Crypto News

Welcome to the US Crypto News Morning Briefing—your essential rundown of the most important developments in crypto for the day ahead.

Grab a coffee, because while Ethereum’s latest price swings might look like noise, powerful institutional flows may be quietly reshaping the altcoin’s trajectory beneath the volatility.

Crypto News of the Day: Ethereum Price Pullback Creates Rare Buying Window

In a recent US Crypto News publication, Standard Chartered predicted that the price of Ethereum (ETH) would reach $7,500 per coin by year’s end. The bank reiterated the forecast in a statement to BeInCrypto, but with far better insights.

According to Standard Chartered’s Head of Digital Assets Research, Geoff Kendrick, Ethereum’s latest rally may only be the beginning.

Kendirck argues that institutional inflows into ETH are “just getting started.” Since early June, Ethereum treasury companies have purchased 2.6% of the total ETH supply.

When combined with ETF inflows, the figure climbs to 4.9%, surpassing the equivalent pace of Bitcoin accumulation during its 2024 breakout.

This wave of demand propelled ETH to a new all-time high. Yet, Kendrick believes the upside remains intact.

“Although these inflows have been significant, the point is that they are just getting started,” he told BeInCrypto, projecting Ethereum could reach $7,500 by year-end.

The Standard Chartered executive estimates that ETH treasury companies could own 10% of the circulating supply, with firms like Bitmine (BMNR) alone targeting 5% as indicated in a recent US Crypto News publication.

That leaves another 7.4% of ETH to be absorbed, a potential supply shock that could accelerate price discovery.

Meanwhile, valuations of Ethereum-focused treasury companies such as SharpLink Gaming (SBET) have normalized, falling below NAV multiples. Based on this, analysts say the Ethereum price may have bottomed out.

Unlike MSTR, however, ETH treasuries benefit from Ethereum’s 3% staking yield, which Kendrick sees as a structural advantage.

A recent SBET announcement pledging share buybacks if NAV multiples fall below 1.0 has further strengthened confidence in the sector.

“ETH and the ETH treasury companies are cheap at today’s levels,” Kendrick told BeInCrypto, framing the recent pullback as an attractive entry point.

Kendrick’s bullish outlook aligns with fresh signs that Ethereum may be bottoming after its surge past $4,900.

Kevin Rusher, founder of Real-World Asset (RWA) borrowing and lending ecosystem RAAC, reinforced this perspective.

Despite a short-term sell-off, ETH remains up 17% over the past month, compared to a 7% decline for Bitcoin.

“It seems that ETH is in price discovery territory now, despite the current short-term decline,” Rusher told BeInCrypto.

Rusher highlighted that ETH’s performance is driven by digital asset treasuries betting on Ethereum’s central role in the future of DeFi and RWA tokenization.

With the European Union reportedly weighing Ethereum for its digital euro project, institutional conviction appears to be broadening.

In addition, Ethereum offers a unique dual proposition: capital appreciation plus staking yield.

“It’s a very compelling proposition for old BTC holders and digital asset companies,” Rusher added, pointing to reports of Bitcoin whales rotating $2 billion into ETH in recent days.

Finally, speculation of an upcoming Federal Reserve rate cut could unlock a new wave of retail liquidity, further fueling ETH demand.

“Combined, this could soon send sub-$5,000 ETH into history,” Rusher concluded.
