Metaplanet Inc. has acquired 136 additional Bitcoin for approximately $15.2 million, according to a filing released Monday.Â

The Tokyo-listed company reported an average purchase price of $111,666 (Â¥16.55 million) per coin, bringing its total holdings to 20,136 Bitcoin.
At current levels, Metaplanet’s Bitcoin investment amounts to about $2.08 billion (Â¥304.6 billion) with an average cost basis of $103,196 (Â¥15.1 million) per coin.Â
The company is now the sixth-largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin.
Based on its stated targets, the firm has achieved 67% of its goal to hold 30,000 Bitcoin by the end of 2025 and 20% of its 2026 objective of 100,000 Bitcoin.Â
These targets were revised upward from an earlier plan of 10,000 Bitcoin by 2025 and 21,000 Bitcoin by 2026.
