Ripple Empowers Japan’s Web3 Startup Ecosystem

  • Web3 Salon guides startups with compliance expertise.
  • Community events to spark Web3 innovation by 2026.
  • Blockchain innovation thrives on XRP Ledger’s speed.

In an effort to accelerate breakthroughs in blockchain technology in Japan, Web3 Salon and Ripple have formed a strategic partnership. The Asia Web3 Alliance Japan developed this initiative to support early-stage businesses based on the XRP Ledger, with assistance from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). For the next year, the company focuses on digital payments, tokenized real-world assets, and decentralized finance, with Ripple stipulating that they will give out up to $200,000 in grants per project.

Funding and Support for Japanese Web3 Startups

In order to fulfill its promise to provide worldwide developer assistance, Ripple has decided to allocate one billion XRP to an XRPL Japan and Korea Fund, which will also feature a grant program. Selected startups will be based on the technical quality, growth potential, and fit for Ripple’s goals. In addition to the funding, the recipient gains access to Ripple’s wide network of partners and experts that help scale faster and enter the market faster. Web3 Salon fills in the gaps by providing mentorship, workshops, and regulatory guidance to aid founders as they navigate through Japan’s complicated tech landscape.

Japan enjoys a clear regulatory framework, along with a skilled tech workforce, making it a perfect place for blockchain development. However, startups often face high entry barriers. Ripple and Web3 Salon want to help solve these obstacles by starting the innovation in a market that will see Web3 growth. Ripple’s presence in Japan goes back some time, and the partnership comes on the back of lasting collaborations with major players such as SBI Holdings, which uses RippleNet for cross-border payments.

Community Events to Drive Innovation

By March of 2026, Ripple and Web3 Salon will have held four big community events in Japan, pumping energy into the country’s Web3 ecosystem. Startup pitch competitions, panel discussions, and workshops on compliance and global expansion will be part of these gatherings. The organizers made the events to connect founders to investors, regulators, and industry leaders and to provide them a platform to collaborate and grow. “With this partnership, visionary founders can now leverage their creativity and bridge beautiful global innovation to the exciting world of Japan’s tech landscape,” commented Hinza Asif, President, Asia Web3 Alliance Japan.

The push to embrace digital assets is in line with Japan’s teeming interest in crypto. Some companies that accept XRP for e-commerce are Mercari and Open House Group, which enable real estate purchases using XRP. The partnership is likely to position Japan as one of the leading countries globally in adopting blockchain solutions, as experts predict that 80% of Japanese banks will embrace Ripple’s XRP-based solutions by late 2025.

The XRP Ledger has been known for its fast transactions with low cost, which supports different applications such as DeFi platforms, tokenized assets, etc. By combining financial backing and coaching, Ripple and Web3 Salon want to foster the next wave of blockchain entrepreneurs in Japan.
