Strategy, the largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin, has marked the fifth anniversary of its Bitcoin investment policy with a new acquisition.

According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing released Monday, Strategy purchased 155 Bitcoin last week for approximately $18 million.
The average purchase price was $116,401 per coin, during a week when Bitcoin’s price rose from about $114,000 to around $122,000 by Sunday.
The transaction increases Strategy’s total holdings to 628,946 Bitcoin, acquired for an aggregate cost of roughly $46.1 billion at an average price of $73,288 per Bitcoin.
The company launched its Bitcoin treasury strategy on August 11th, 2020, beginning with a $250 million purchase of 21,454 Bitcoin.
Over the past five years, Bitcoin’s market price has increased from approximately $11,400 to about $120,000.
During this time, the company has made 74 separate Bitcoin purchases and has not reported any sales.

In late 2024, Saylor stated that the company would continue to purchase Bitcoin regardless of price trends.
In June 2025, he repeated his long-term projection that Bitcoin could reach $21 million within 21 years.
