Tether Appoints Former White House Crypto Council Head Bo Hines as Strategic Advisor

Tether has appointed Bo Hines as Strategic Advisor for Digital Assets and U.S. Strategy.

Hines, who recently served as Executive Director of the White House Crypto Council under President Donald Trump, will take on the role immediately to help guide the company’s U.S. initiatives and policy engagement.

At the White House, Hines worked on digital asset regulation, including frameworks for stablecoin issuers, interagency collaboration on consumer protection, and integration of emerging technologies into the financial system.

“Bo’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to building a strong U.S.-based presence that spans across multiple sectors, starting with digital assets and expanding to new opportunities, including a deep focus on potential further investments in domestic infrastructure,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.

“His deep understanding of the legislative process, combined with his passion for practical blockchain adoption, makes him an invaluable asset as Tether enters the biggest market in the world.”

Tether says it has invested nearly $5 billion in U.S.-based ventures, and Hines is expected to strengthen its relationships with policymakers and industry stakeholders.

“During my time in public service, I witnessed firsthand the transformative potential of stablecoins to modernize payments and increase financial inclusion,” Hines said.

“I’m thrilled to join Tether at such a pivotal moment, helping to deliver an ecosystem of products that will set the standard for stability, compliance, and innovation in the U.S. market – one that will empower American consumers and help revolutionize our nation’s financial system.”
