There are lots of them
There is a huge disparity in wealth
The United States now has more than 600 billionaires. That is a lot of money being controlled and possibly hoarded by a relatively small number of the population. There is such a disparity with regard to financial wellbeing in the United States. There are millions of people who are hurting with the economic difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic. Many of the super wealthy became richer during the pandemic.
There are many homeless people living on the streets or in homeless shelters if they are lucky. Television commercials show young children and teenagers who are homeless. That is so unfortunate that they feel they are safer living on the street than in a home with their own families. These people need help.
Elon Musk, as of January 2021, was just declared as the richest person in the world. He overtook Jeff Bezos of Amazon, who had been listed as the richest person before this month. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Mark Zuckerberg, and Michael Bloomberg are among the richest people on earth. There are some men in other countries who are also among the wealthiest.
The states with the most billionaires listed in 2020 are California with 160, New York with 114, Texas with 60, Florida with 58, Massachusetts with 20, Illinois with 17, Connecticut with 14, Georgia, Washington, and Pennsylvania with 12 each. Nevada and Arizona have 11 each, and Maryland has 10. The rest of the states have less than 10 billionaires with seven states having none.
In addition to all the hundreds of billionaires in the United States, there are many millionaires. All these people undoubtedly have more money than they will ever need.
A friend with a successful company became a multi-millionaire. He tried to be generous and share his wealth. He said he has more money than he and his family would need or could spend in their lifetimes. There are many multi-millionaires who could be sharing more of their wealth with those in need.
Many wealthy people are sharing their wealth, but maybe it is not enough with so many people hurting in the world.
