Uniswap and Wormhole team up to introduce HYPE and SOL to Unichain, enhancing multichain asset access through Wormhole Portal, as announced by Wormhole.
In a significant stride towards enhancing multichain interoperability, Uniswap Labs and the Uniswap Foundation have partnered with Wormhole to bring a range of multichain assets to Unichain. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in expanding Unichain’s asset ecosystem, with HYPE and SOL debuting as the first tokens available, according to Wormhole.
Initial Asset Launch: HYPE and SOL
The introduction of HYPE, HyperEVM’s native token, and SOL, Solana’s well-known cryptocurrency, sets a precedent for future multichain asset integrations. HYPE boasts a market capitalization of $12 billion, while SOL is a prominent token in decentralized finance with a market cap of $111 billion. These assets will provide Unichain users with streamlined access to liquidity from these major ecosystems.
Wormhole Portal: A Trusted Platform
Through the Wormhole Portal, users can transfer HYPE and SOL directly into Unichain. The Portal has facilitated over $54 billion in all-time volume, serving more than a million users. Its robust infrastructure has handled over $65 billion in cross-chain transfers, underpinning the security and reliability necessary for such high-volume transactions.
Incentives for Liquidity Providers
To encourage participation, Uniswap is offering incentives for liquidity providers on Unichain. These incentives include 2,872 UNI weekly for USDC/HYPE pair providers and 3,351 UNI weekly for those providing liquidity to the USDC/SOL pair. Users can transfer these assets via Wormhole Portal and choose to engage in these incentive programs or utilize the assets within Unichain’s broader ecosystem.
