Algorand [ALGO] climbed 14.36% to $0.1344 over 24 hours as trading volume surged 225.35% to $290 million. The rally coincided with heightened attention to Algorand's x402 Challenge, an initiative nearing its deadline that focuses on AI-agent payments and automated digital services.
The x402 Challenge enables developers to build pay-per-request applications where AI agents can purchase resources without traditional subscription models. These resources include APIs, data, compute capacity, and other digital services.
Derivatives Market Shows Bullish Positioning
Larger traders displayed strong bullish sentiment as ALGO approached the $0.1400 resistance level. On Binance, top traders held 67.27% long accounts against 32.73% short accounts, producing a Long/Short Account Ratio of 2.06. HTX market participants also favored longs, with 60% long accounts compared to 38.7% short accounts, yielding a ratio of approximately 1.55.
Whale Activity Moderating
ALGO's whale-versus-retail delta remained positive at 0.23, indicating that whale activity outweighed retail participation during the recent rally. However, this delta had retreated noticeably from higher levels recorded in the previous two days, suggesting a moderation in dominant whale positioning.
Technical Levels and Future Price Movement
The token's recovery brought it directly below the $0.1400 resistance level, a barrier that previously capped upside attempts. The most recent weekly candle reached $0.1362 after buyers drove a rebound from the $0.0772 support. A weekly close above $0.1400 could flip the resistance into support.
The RSI indicator strengthened to 62.93 during the price advance, placing it firmly above neutral territory but below the 70 overbought threshold. Volatility stabilized around $0.0187 on the ATR. If buyers successfully establish $0.1400 as support, Algorand could extend toward the $0.1785 zone. A rejection of this level would leave the breakout unconfirmed and expose the rally to a near-term correction.
