Recent market activity has shown significant upward momentum across major cryptocurrencies and select altcoins. Over a seven-day period, bitcoin (BTC) rose 23.6%, consolidating around $77,400, while ethereum (ETH) climbed 31.2% to trade near $2,452. Even with these gains, bitcoin remains 38.5% below its October 6, 2025 all-time high of $126,080, and ethereum requires a 50.4% increase to reach its peak of $4,946.
Deeper down the market capitalization board, several altcoins posted sharper weekly jumps. Pump.fun’s PUMP surged 99%, Ethena’s ENA gained 98.57%, Stacks (STX) rose 94.55%, and official trump (TRUMP) increased 91.55%. Zcash (ZEC) also gained 75.15% to trade at $851, reaching a fresh peak. Other tokens saw notable weekly advances, including Aave (AAVE) up 65.48% and pepe coin (PEPE) up 59.61%.
Despite these double-digit increases, a large portion of the digital asset market remains distant from previous highs. PUMP trades 39.7% below its peak, ENA is down 89.2%, STX sits 94% below its zenith, and TRUMP is down 96.4%. AAVE remains 78.5% below its May 2021 all-time high, while PEPE is buried 85.4% below its peak. A small number of tokens declined over the same weekly stretch, with jelly (JELLY), just (JST), Centrifuge (CFG), and quibic (QUIBIC) posting losses ranging from 3.36% to 5.48%.
Market metrics reflect a mixed sentiment regarding a broader altseason. The Altcoin Season Index rose to 43 from a low of 25 in May, remaining below the threshold of 75 where 75% of the top 50 coins outperform bitcoin over a 90-day window. While some traders on social media platforms have declared the arrival of an altseason, worldwide Google search queries for the term "altcoin" sit at a score of 26 out of 100 over the past 12 months, contrasting with the high social media euphoria.
