According to cryptocurrency analyst Credible Crypto, Ethereum could potentially reach targets between $10,000 and $20,000 over the next few years. Speaking on an episode of the No Bs Crypto podcast, the analyst based his thesis on a five-year trading range, historical relative performance against Bitcoin, and the potential for capital rotation into higher-risk digital assets.
Ethereum has spent roughly five years trading within a range of approximately $1,500 to $5,000, touching both boundaries multiple times. While Bitcoin has traded above its 2021 highs, Ethereum has lagged behind in comparison. Credible Crypto's baseline target sits at $10,000, derived by doubling the previous range high, while broader range expansions could point toward $8,000 and $9,000.
The analyst's higher target of $20,000 relies on specific Bitcoin milestones and a recovery in the ETH/BTC ratio. Under a scenario where Bitcoin reaches $126,000 and the ETH/BTC ratio recovers toward its previous high of 0.156, Ethereum could trade above $20,000. Additionally, Credible Crypto noted that Ethereum's higher risk profile compared to Bitcoin could allow for larger returns during a bullish market cycle.
The technical foundation of this bullish structure depends on Ethereum maintaining a higher-timeframe low near $1,388. A drop below this threshold would invalidate the long-term bullish thesis, according to the analyst, though he estimates a low probability of ETH returning below $1,900.
Market data from CoinGecko indicates that Ethereum has traded above $2,400, reflecting gains over weekly and monthly intervals while remaining approximately 50% below its all-time high. Furthermore, broader altcoin market capitalizations and technical indicators have shown recent upward momentum, with certain altcoins anticipated by the analyst to deliver substantial multiples if the cycle continues.
