Ripple's XRP token has recovered recently, drawing renewed attention to its relative performance against gold rather than traditional comparisons with Bitcoin or the U.S. dollar.
Analyst EGRAG CRYPTO has focused on the XRP/gold pair, arguing that historical technical structures suggest the cryptocurrency could begin appreciating faster than the precious metal. The analysis is framed as a relative-value argument: XRP does not necessarily require gold to decline, but could outperform it if the pattern repeats.
According to the analyst's thesis, either XRP could accelerate while gold retraces, or both developments could occur simultaneously, creating a favorable outcome for the ratio between the two assets.
EGRAG outlined additional price targets for XRP against the U.S. dollar, identifying $1.75 as a key threshold. Holding above that level could support a broader expansion toward targets of $5 to $8, with $13 cited in an extreme scenario.
Analyst ChartNerd identified a similar pattern, noting that XRP is forming a multi-year cup-and-handle structure with Fibonacci targets that align with the $8 and $13 levels mentioned by EGRAG.
Large investors, known as whales, have reportedly accumulated XRP in significant volumes recently, including a $720 million accumulation over several days. XRP remains substantially below its all-time high despite recovering from August lows near $1.00.
