Arbitrum Leads Chain Netflows With $1.6 Billion as ARB Surges 28%

Bridge Netflow Points to Capital Retention on Arbitrum

Arbitrum's native token ARB posted a 28% gain over the preceding day, coinciding with the chain leading all networks in bridge asset netflow at $1.6 billion, according to data sourced from Artemis.

Bridge asset netflow measures how much capital enters and leaves each chain across multiple networks. A positive netflow, as observed here, indicates that more value settled on the chain than departed from it. Arbitrum ranked ahead of Ethereum and Robinhood in netflow over the same period.

TVL and DEX Volume Signal Growing Usage

Data from DeFiLlama showed that Arbitrum's total value locked rose by approximately $170 million over a roughly 13-day window beginning August 19, reaching $1.412 billion. That translates to an average daily increase of about $13.07 million.

Decentralized exchange volume on the network also recovered after a steady decline between August 21 and August 28. From August 29 onward, DEX volume climbed more than 151%, peaking near $208.72 million.

Daily active traders, however, remained at approximately 106,500, a level that did not reflect proportional growth in user count despite the surge in trading volume.

Perpetual Market Shows Long Bias

On the derivatives side, CoinGlass data indicated that ARB open interest rose 65% to $169 million. The funding rate stood at 0.0055%, suggesting that the majority of positioned capital was aligned in long trades.

Context

Bridge netflow, TVL expansion, rising DEX volume, and increased open interest collectively pointed toward stronger demand for Arbitrum's ecosystem. However, sustained performance in the near term depends on whether these flows maintain their current trajectory, and daily active trader counts have not yet matched levels seen earlier in August.
