ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood has released updated Bitcoin price forecasts for 2030, projecting a base-case price range of $710,000 to $800,000 and a bull-case ceiling of $2.4 million. At Bitcoin's April 2025 price of approximately $81,500, the base case alone would represent a potential gain of roughly 1,665%.
ARK's Underlying Model
ARK's Big Ideas report projects Bitcoin's market cap climbing to approximately $16 trillion by 2030 within a total crypto market cap of around $28 trillion. With Bitcoin's supply expected to reach near 20.5 million coins by that point, the mathematical calculation produces the $760,000 to $800,000 price range under base assumptions.
As of April 2026, Wood reaffirmed a $730,000 base-case figure and highlighted Bitcoin's low correlation with gold at 0.14 since 2019, suggesting Bitcoin functions as a distinct asset class rather than a simple risk-on proxy.
On the bull end, ARK's scenarios now range from $1.2 million to $2.4 million. Wood trimmed the top of that range from an earlier $1.5 million figure, attributing the downward revision to the growing footprint of stablecoins, which she notes have begun absorbing transaction and store-of-value demand that earlier models credited entirely to Bitcoin.
Structural Demand Drivers
Wood's forecast rests on two structural shifts: the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US in early 2024, which drew billions in institutional inflows, and growing corporate treasury adoption. She views both as permanent changes to the demand landscape that transcend short-term price volatility.
Wood has also framed Bitcoin through macroeconomic uncertainty, describing it as a form of digital gold during a period when investors question the long-term reliability of fiat monetary systems.
Range of Outcomes
The gap between $710,000 and $2.4 million reflects uncertainty about the pace and depth of institutional adoption, regulatory responses from major markets over the next five years, and whether macroeconomic conditions continue to favor hard-asset alternatives.
