Arthur Hayes, former CEO of derivatives exchange BitMEX, has sold approximately $22.28 million worth of cryptocurrencies in recent days, according to on-chain data from Lookonchain. The sales add to a pattern of active trading in Hayes' portfolio history.
The largest transaction involved 6,400 ETH valued at approximately $15.2 million. Hayes also disposed of 14 million ENA tokens worth $2.76 million, 323,000 UNI tokens valued at $2.24 million, and 1.89 million ETHFI tokens worth around $1.23 million. Additional sales included over 546,600 AERO, 120,000 PENDLE, and 3 million ZAMA tokens.
The timing of the sales is noteworthy given Hayes' recent public statements about Ethereum. In late September, he predicted that Ethereum could reach $10,000 by year's end, citing its position as a secure layer-one network capable of accommodating substantial capital.
Hayes has demonstrated a pattern of significant trading activity during periods of market uncertainty. In July, he accumulated more than 7,200 ETH for nearly $14 million at an average price of $1,923. He subsequently sold 2,364 ETH to Cumberland and Galaxy Digital at an estimated price of $1,821. Earlier in the same month, he had sold more than $10 million worth of ETH at prices below $1,700 before repurchasing once the asset recovered above $1,900, eventually acquiring an additional 3,915 ETH for $7.47 million at an average price of $1,909.
