Aster DEX announced on September 13, 2026, the addition of perpetual futures contracts for Lisk (LSK) and Power Ledger (POWR), both offered with 5x leverage. The listings represent the latest expansion of the platform's derivatives marketplace, which currently operates between 558 and 590 perpetual markets and adds over 40 new markets monthly.
The 5x leverage ceiling applied to both LSK and POWR reflects Aster's risk management approach for lower-cap altcoins, with higher leverage reserved for more established, liquid assets. Both tokens already trade on spot markets across various exchanges, giving traders the ability to express directional positions or hedge existing holdings through derivatives without entering spot markets.
Aster's trading framework settles all contracts in USDT margins and covers major crypto assets, tokenized equities, and commodities. The POWERUSDT perpetual market had already been trading with 5x leverage prior to this formal announcement, suggesting existing demand for POWR derivatives.
No open interest or volume figures were disclosed for the newly launched LSK and POWR contracts at launch.
Context for the Listings
Lisk's mainnet is scheduled to shut down on October 31, 2026, approximately six weeks after the perpetual contract launch. Following the shutdown, LSK will transition into a loyalty and rewards token operating primarily on the Ethereum and Base blockchains.
Power Ledger operates in peer-to-peer energy trading and real-world energy marketplace solutions, distinguishing it from speculation-focused projects with use cases tied to physical infrastructure.
Aster's listing strategy prioritizes rapid expansion over selectivity, using a community-driven governance framework called AOS-2. This approach results in a catalogue that expands at a pace most centralized exchanges would consider impractical. Both LSK and POWR, as established tokens with existing spot market presence, are better positioned than typical listings to attract two-sided trading interest.
