AX1 Console 2.0 Introduces Agentic Activities Launchpad on Base

AX1, a startup ecosystem built on Base, has introduced AX1 Console 2.0, which it describes as an agentic activities launchpad. Unlike token launchpads or agent launchpads that tokenize AI agents themselves, this platform focuses on launching agents into work tasks.

An agentic activities launchpad, according to AX1, is a product where AI agents are launched into work rather than tokens being launched as assets. Each task is structured as a quest: the agent pays for a service, receives a result, and the payment settles publicly on the blockchain.

Technical Foundation

The platform relies on x402, an open payment standard introduced by Coinbase in 2025 and now overseen by a foundation under the Linux Foundation. x402 allows software to pay for web requests in USDC as part of the request itself, without requiring an account or API key. This enables agents to pay for their own work while leaving a transparent record on Base.

How Console 2.0 Works

The entry quest, called Verdict, operates in three steps: a user selects a token by name or ticker, Console creates an agent and covers initial runs, and the agent completes the task by scanning onchain activity and trading metrics before returning a verdict card.

Verdict is designed as entertainment rather than trading guidance, offering opinions with personality but never issuing buy or sell calls. Users earn points on a weekly contest board, with top performers sharing a prize pool paid in SPCXc, Coinbase's tokenized SpaceX stock on Base.

Version 2.0 Improvements

Console 2.0 removes friction from the user experience. Previous versions required users to set up an agent before completing any tasks. In the new version, the agent and its starting balance are created automatically when the first run begins. Additional features include a footprint checker for any Base wallet and Console integration into the Base App.

Economics and Payment Model

Console does not reward users with newly minted tokens. Instead, activities are paid for in USDC on a per-run basis, with run prices fixed at 2 cents and not subject to market fluctuations. New users receive starter credits to see results before committing money.

Since paid quests launched on September 7, 5,669 agent wallets have paid for runs, generating 605,876 x402 payments. Of those wallets, 1,424 continued paying after their starter credits were exhausted. Console has ranked among the top five sellers by transactions and paying agents over the past 30 days on the x402 public explorer, placing it among the leading x402 applications on Base.

Expansion Plans

Console's current partners include sport.fun, Upshot, Clash of Coins, and BlockRun. AX1 plans to expand with additional quests from partner applications on Base, allowing agents to perform jobs beyond Verdict. Head-to-head agent competitions are also in development. Alongside Console, AX1 operates AX1 Assay, a paid service where users evaluate how agents behave onchain for companies running agents in production.

Console 2.0 is available at console.ax1.vc.
