Beldex Raises $8 Million to Expand Privacy Infrastructure for Web3 and AI

Beldex, a privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem, has successfully raised $8 million in a new funding round. The capital will be used to accelerate the development of its privacy infrastructure tailored for Web3 and artificial intelligence.

The funding round was led by Sigma Capital, with participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures. The fresh capital arrives as Beldex expands its focus toward providing infrastructure that developers can utilize to build confidential applications across transactions, communications, network activity, and identity.

Afanddy Bin Hushni, Chairman of Beldex, noted that privacy is increasingly becoming an infrastructure requirement rather than an optional feature. He stated that the funding will allow the team to move faster across sensitive data layers without compromising usability.

Expanding Developer Tools and Ecosystem

Beldex currently maintains a suite of privacy products built around its Layer 1 network, including the Beldex Wallet, BChat encrypted messaging, BelNet decentralized private networking, the Beldex Browser, and the Beldex Name Service (BNS).

With the new funding, the platform aims to make these capabilities more accessible to developers. Near-term priorities include:

  • The Beldex Extension Wallet and related SDKs
  • Account-based addresses
  • Confidential assets
  • An EVM-compatible sidechain testnet
  • VRF consensus implementation

Vineet Budki, Managing Director and CEO at Sigma Capital, stated that the firm chose to lead the round due to Beldex's long-term conviction and established infrastructure, which positions the ecosystem well for Web3 applications and AI agents that demand heightened privacy.

Focus on AI Privacy and Security

A primary objective for the new capital is the development of privacy infrastructure for AI. As autonomous agents handle credentials, communications, and payments, Beldex is exploring how its privacy stack can protect these automated interactions.

Key focus areas include privacy-preserving agent identities using BNS, encrypted AI-powered communications via BChat, confidential payments, and secure AI execution. Additionally, Beldex is conducting research into Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and secure memory to protect sensitive data during processing.

The network also supports cross-chain connectivity with Binance Smart Chain and is researching a Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) and Distributed Key Generation (DKG) cross-chain architecture, alongside quantum-safe technologies for its longer-term security roadmap.
