Bitcoin and ether ETFs posted combined outflows of $647.84 million on Wednesday, marking the heaviest daily loss for bitcoin funds since June 25. The selling extended across both major cryptocurrency ETF categories as trading activity accelerated significantly.
Bitcoin ETFs Lead Outflows
Bitcoin ETF redemptions totaled $487.07 million, with seven products recording withdrawals and no meaningful inflows to offset the decline. Blackrock's IBIT led the exodus with a $207.67 million redemption, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $105.15 million and Ark and 21Shares' ARKB at $101.71 million.
Additional outflows came from Grayscale's GBTC ($39.29 million), Bitwise's BITB ($27.59 million), Vaneck's HODL ($3.54 million), and Valkyrie's BRRR ($2.11 million). Trading volume reached $2.80 billion, approximately $1 billion above the previous session, while net assets declined to $107.40 billion.
Ether ETFs Under Sustained Pressure
Ether ETFs faced even more persistent weakness, losing $160.77 million and extending their outflow streak to seven consecutive trading days. Blackrock's ETHA accounted for $116.05 million of that decline, with additional withdrawals from Grayscale's ETHE ($25.77 million) and other major ether ETF products.
Trading activity in ether ETFs doubled from the previous day to $1.42 billion, while net assets fell by roughly $1 billion to $16.40 billion.
Altcoin ETFs Face Broader Selling
Selling pressure spread across other crypto asset categories. Zcash ETFs lost $8.49 million through Grayscale's ZCSH, with net assets at $767.02 million. Solana ETFs posted a third consecutive day of outflows, with Bitwise's BSOL declining $4.80 million and net assets falling to $1.85 billion.
XRP and HYPE ETFs recorded no net flows on Wednesday.
NEAR ETF Provides Sole Bright Spot
NEAR ETF bucked the broader market trend, with Bitwise's NRR attracting $3.34 million and lifting net assets to $65.39 million. It was the only major crypto ETF category to finish Wednesday with positive inflows, continuing momentum from its recent launch.
