Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Post Strong Weekly Inflows

Spot exchange-traded funds tracking Bitcoin and Ethereum recorded substantial net inflows over the past week, highlighted by a particularly strong market session on Thursday.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted nearly $1 billion in net inflows over the past week, offsetting a $236.46 million net outflow on September 1. Despite a $201.81 million net outflow on the final business day of the previous week, the four other days drove the overall weekly net gain to $924.48 million, building on major inflows of $1.92 billion from the preceding week.

Thursday proved to be the strongest day for Bitcoin ETFs since January, with the funds drawing $730.87 million. Additional inflows of $101.15 million on Wednesday and $174.60 million on Friday contributed to a total weekly intake of $986.85 million. This brought cumulative net inflows for Bitcoin ETFs to $55.62 billion, recovering from a drop to $51.79 billion in mid-August.

In the individual fund standings, BlackRock’s IBIT maintained its lead in the ETF space with cumulative net assets exceeding $62.6 billion. Fidelity’s FBTC followed with $14.07 million, and Grayscale’s GBTC held the next position with $10.36 billion.

Spot Ethereum ETFs also maintained a positive streak, recording net inflows for eight out of the past nine weeks. The only negative week since early July saw a modest net outflow of $2.26 million in mid-August.

Ethereum-based financial products added $218.41 million in net inflows during the first week of September, following an $824.42 million gain the previous week. Thursday was again the standout day for Ethereum funds, drawing $141.39 million. Additional inflows included $87.68 million on Monday, $10.95 million on Tuesday, and $26.46 million on Friday, which outweighed a Wednesday outflow of $48.08 million. These movements pushed the cumulative total net inflows for spot Ethereum ETFs from $10.89 billion in early July to $13.19 billion by September 4.
