US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds recorded a combined $492 million in net inflows for the August 21 trading session, extending a positive flow streak across both cryptocurrency ETF groups, according to data from Farside Investors.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs added $307 million during the session, with BlackRock's IBIT leading the category by drawing $239.3 million. Meanwhile, spot Ethereum ETFs brought in an additional $185 million, led by BlackRock's ETHA product with $151 million in inflows.
The August 21 session marked the fifth consecutive positive trading day for both digital asset ETF categories. Weekly inflow totals reached $1.92 billion for Bitcoin ETFs and $697 million for Ethereum ETFs.
Market analysts note that these figures represent daily and weekly net-flow data rather than cumulative assets under management. The persistent inflows across multiple sessions provide a metric for tracking regulated demand through traditional brokerage channels as institutional and traditional-market investors add exposure.
BlackRock maintained its dominant position across both categories, capturing the largest shares of capital for both Bitcoin and Ethereum funds. Observers point out that scale in these products typically offers deeper liquidity, tighter spreads, and stronger distribution.
Future market performance will depend on whether these inflows persist during periods of price volatility and whether Ethereum can maintain its pace alongside Bitcoin. For now, the latest session data highlights continued capital allocation into regulated crypto investment vehicles.
