Bitcoin is hovering near $80.5K following a rebound that failed to sustain above key resistance levels. The short-term technical structure remains bearish, with buyers defending the $80K region while substantial liquidation exposure sits below recent lows.
Daily Chart Analysis
On the daily timeframe, Bitcoin's recovery toward $84K–$85K was met with sharp rejection and renewed selling pressure. Price action has formed lower highs and moved toward the ascending channel's midpoint around $79.5K–$80K. A recent lower wick indicates some buying interest at this trendline, though the rebound lacks sustained follow-through.
For recovery to gain traction, buyers must first reclaim the $81K–$82K area before challenging the $84K–$85K resistance zone. The broader $85.5K–$90.5K supply zone represents the main obstacle to restoring a bullish daily trend.
A break and sustained close below $79K–$80K would weaken the channel's internal support structure and could trigger a deeper correction toward the $75K–$78K demand zone. This region marks the base of September's advance and represents the next significant daily support level.
Four-Hour Chart Dynamics
The 4-hour chart shows Bitcoin breaking below its ascending support trendline following a failed breakout attempt above the $84K–$84.4K resistance. A brief push toward $84.8K reversed quickly, leaving a lower high beneath the $86K–$87.2K supply area.
BTC is currently trading inside the $80.1K–$81.3K demand zone, positioned below the broken trendline. A recent price sweep to $79.2K attracted buyers, but the recovery stalled near $81K, indicating that sellers are continuing to restrict upside rebounds.
The bearish continuation scenario remains the favored outcome while Bitcoin remains beneath $81.2K–$81.5K resistance confluence. A decisive loss of $80K followed by a break below $79.2K could extend the decline toward $78K and the deeper $75K–$76.3K demand zone. Conversely, reclaiming the trendline and holding above $81.5K would relieve immediate pressure and support a recovery toward $82.5K–$84K.
Liquidation Positioning
The two-week Binance BTC/USDT liquidation heatmap shows a prominent estimated liquidation cluster around $78.5K–$79K, situated beneath recent price lows. Additional liquidation concentrations extend toward $77K–$78K, forming a broader downside liquidity region.
This positioning is relevant given that Bitcoin's latest bounce has failed to establish a sustained recovery. If the price loses $80K and breaks the recent $79.2K low, long liquidations could amplify selling as BTC approaches the $78.5K–$79K cluster. Substantial liquidation clusters also exist around $85K–$85.7K and near $82K–$82.5K, which could become relevant if buyers reclaim the broken short-term structure.
