Following an 8.9% increase over the previous day, Bitcoin was trading at $76,522.29, successfully breaking through the long-tested resistance level of $70,000. CryptoQuant reported that the price action has coincided with a record-breaking, largest profit-taking Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) movement in history.
An Unspent Transaction Output represents a portion of Bitcoin acquired during a transaction that has not yet been used. While profit-taking UTXO activity has surged past previous peaks, analysts note that the current market environment differs from past all-time highs. Instead of a euphoric market peak, the recent rebound follows a period where many short-term investors experienced a bearish slump, framing the current movement more as risk reduction than large-scale profit-taking.
As Bitcoin approaches a critical resistance zone, recent buyers now have an opportunity to exit at breakeven. This dynamic could create a sizable supply wall. Whether the recovery strengthens depends on whether high demand can absorb the incoming supply and keep Bitcoin at or above the short-term holder realized price. If sellers outnumber buyers, the realized price could transform into resistance and trigger another price drop.
At press time, Bitcoin's Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio stood at 1.38, indicating that the market value was approximately 38% higher than the realized value. This reflects rapidly increasing unrealized profits due to the price recovery. However, the Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR) remained below 1 at 0.7, signaling that the market is not yet effectively absorbing profit-taking and pointing to the need for continued caution amid ongoing bearish pressure.
