US spot Bitcoin funds posted a $301.2 million net weekly inflow through Friday despite significant late-week redemptions, according to preliminary data from Farside Investors checked October 24.
The week's trajectory shifted sharply in the final two trading sessions. Monday through Wednesday attracted $1.0747 billion in inflows, but Thursday and Friday saw $773.5 million exit the funds. Thursday alone recorded $635.6 million in outflows, followed by $137.9 million on Friday.
Friday's withdrawals concentrated in two major funds. BlackRock's IBIT lost $110.3 million while Fidelity's FBTC saw $31.8 million in redemptions. Morgan Stanley's MSBT bucked the trend with a $4.2 million inflow.
Ethereum funds experienced a weaker week overall, posting a provisional $220.7 million outflow. After a $110.6 million withdrawal Thursday, Friday's $4.4 million inflow provided limited offset to the earlier redemptions.
The data carries a qualification: VanEck's Friday entries remained incomplete in Farside's tables at the time of reporting, meaning the published weekly totals represent incomplete snapshots that could shift with subsequent updates.
Understanding Fund Flows
Fund flows measure demand through these specific investment vehicles but do not capture the full picture of institutional interest in crypto assets. Investors can trade existing shares without those transactions affecting net fund assets, and similar activity occurs across other market entry points beyond these listed funds.
The positive weekly balance for Bitcoin funds leaves open the possibility of renewed institutional demand in the coming week, though the late-week reversal offers limited evidence of steady, one-directional buying pressure.
