US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds saw net inflows decline sharply to $174.6 million on Friday, Sept. 4, marking a 76.1% drop from Thursday's $730.8 million, as investor interest concentrated in just two products entering the Labor Day break.
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) were the only funds to record positive net flows on the day, attracting $117.4 million and $57.2 million respectively, according to Farside Investors data.
The number of funds attracting inflows narrowed significantly from seven on Thursday to two on Friday. Ten other funds—BITB, ARKB, BTCO, EZBC, BRRR, HODL, BTCW, MSBT, GBTC, and BTC—each recorded zero net flows, with none posting net outflows.
The slowdown followed a surge in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF flows the previous day. Friday's more modest total reflects a slower pace of capital entering the group rather than net withdrawals, as zero net-flow readings indicate shares continued trading between investors without generating net fund-level transactions.
Market Resumes After Holiday
US stock exchanges closed Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day, with regular trading set to resume Tuesday, Sept. 8. Friday's figures represent the latest completed session data through the holiday break. Global Bitcoin trading continued uninterrupted during the US market closure.
The next trading session will indicate whether inflows broaden beyond IBIT and FBTC or remain concentrated in those two products. A single session cannot establish a lasting demand trend, and the available data does not identify specific investor motivations or market factors behind the slowdown.
