US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $526.7 million on October 19, reversing the previous week's withdrawals as BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) drove renewed demand. The inflow marked the largest in nearly two weeks, more than doubling the $228.4 million investors withdrew during the five trading sessions ending October 16.
IBIT attracted $665.2 million in its strongest session since October 7, 2025. By contrast, Fidelity's FBTC saw $83.6 million in withdrawals and Grayscale's GBTC experienced $54.9 million in outflows, while nine other funds reported no net flows.
The Bitcoin ETF rebound coincided with Bitcoin recovering toward $82,800 following a brief dip below $80,000 the previous week. Despite the price recovery, investor demand for Bitcoin ETFs remained volatile, with the funds recording approximately $907 million in combined withdrawals over the preceding two weeks before Monday's purchases offset more than half those losses.
Daily flows alternated between inflows and outflows for six consecutive trading sessions, reflecting investor difficulty establishing sustained positions amid uncertainty over US monetary policy. Cumulative net investment into Bitcoin ETFs reached $57.40 billion, with total assets at $105.46 billion, representing approximately 6.4% of Bitcoin's market capitalization.
Stark Divergence Between Bitcoin and Ethereum Products
BlackRock's $665.2 million IBIT inflow accounted for roughly 126% of the market's net purchases on October 19, demonstrating how demand for a single product can overwhelm selling across competing funds. This concentration underscores BlackRock's outsized influence in the Bitcoin ETF market.
The divergence between Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs proved particularly striking. US spot Ethereum ETFs lost another $103.3 million on October 19, with BlackRock's Ethereum ETF (ETHA) accounting for $95.4 million of those withdrawals. The opposing flows left Bitcoin ETFs outperforming Ethereum products by approximately $630 million in a single session.
Ethereum ETF withdrawals extended a prolonged streak that erased more than $1.1 billion over the past 15 trading sessions. During that period, Ethereum funds recorded just one positive session, attracting $24.8 million on October 13. The sustained redemptions reduced cumulative net inflows from nearly $14 billion to $12.84 billion, while total assets fell approximately 17%, from $17.79 billion to $14.7 billion.
