U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $643.2 million in net withdrawals on October 30, erasing the previous four trading sessions' combined inflows and pushing both the week and month into negative territory, according to Farside Investors' Bitcoin ETF flow data.
The selling reversed momentum that had built through the week, with $440.8 million in combined inflows between October 26 and October 29. Monday through Wednesday saw inflows of $110.3 million, $176 million, and $137.3 million respectively, before slowing to $17.2 million on Thursday.
BlackRock Outperforms Despite Day's Selling
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) accounted for the largest single-fund withdrawal on Friday at $233.7 million. However, IBIT finished October with $932.1 million in net inflows, underscoring a significant divide in investor demand across the category.
The remaining Bitcoin ETF products collectively recorded approximately $1.45 billion in net withdrawals for the month. Three funds—IBIT, Fidelity's FBTC, and ARK 21Shares' ARKB—accounted for approximately 87.7% of Friday's outflows. Grayscale's GBTC recorded $53.3 million in withdrawals, and Bitwise's BITB lost $25.7 million.
The day's withdrawal represented the largest daily exit since June, exceeding the $635.6 million withdrawn on October 22.
Ether ETFs Also Post Losses
Selling extended to Ether products, which recorded $155.7 million in Friday withdrawals. Combined Bitcoin and Ether ETF outflows for the session reached $798.9 million. Ether funds finished the week with total withdrawals of $431.4 million and posted approximately $1.61 billion in net outflows for October.
Cumulative Inflows Remain Substantial
Despite the month-end reversal, cumulative net inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs stood at approximately $57.05 billion since their January 2024 launch.
