US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) ended a nine-day inflow streak on Friday as Bitcoin fell below $78,000. The reversal marked a significant shift in fund flows after an extended period of investor demand.
Bitcoin ETFs recorded $201.8 million in net outflows on Friday, according to SoSoValue data. The move ended nine consecutive trading sessions of inflows that had accumulated more than $3 billion in net capital. Despite the single-day reversal, August flows remained positive at $3.3 billion with one US trading session remaining in the month. Total net assets in Bitcoin ETFs fell to $97.6 billion after reaching $100 billion on Thursday.
Major ETF Movements
The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) led Friday's withdrawals with $114.9 million in net outflows, followed by the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) with $49.7 million. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), the largest US spot Bitcoin ETF by assets, recorded $33.4 million in outflows. Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) was the only Bitcoin fund to record inflows Friday, adding $9.3 million.
Strength in Alternative Tokens
Ether and XRP ETFs bucked the Bitcoin reversal, continuing to see inflows on Friday. Ether ETFs added $102.2 million, while XRP funds attracted $26.2 million. The Ether category last recorded net outflows on August 11, and XRP funds last saw outflows on August 5.
Solana ETFs maintained positive momentum, with the category attracting $1.7 billion in cumulative flows without experiencing a sustained stretch of outflows. Bitwise's Solana ETF became the first fund in the category to cross the $1 billion asset milestone.
