Bitcoin ETFs Log $31M Inflow as 8-Day Rally Reaches $3B

U.S. bitcoin ETFs opened the week with $31.07 million in net inflows on Monday, Sept. 28, extending their winning streak to eight trading sessions. The cumulative inflows across the past eight days reached roughly $3 billion, though the pace of daily buying has slowed significantly.

Blackrock's IBIT fund led Monday's session with $54.84 million in inflows, while Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust added $10.32 million. These gains were partially offset by outflows from Grayscale's GBTC, which lost $23.19 million, and Fidelity's FBTC, which recorded a $10.90 million outflow. Total trading volume across bitcoin ETFs reached $2.05 billion, with net assets closing at $107.82 billion.

The softer daily flow comes after bitcoin ETFs attracted $2.39 billion last week, their strongest weekly total since October 2025. Bitcoin's price dipped to a weekly low above $82,500 on Monday before rebounding to near the $84,000 mark by afternoon.

Ethereum and Alternative Assets Gain

Ether ETFs remained positive for a seventh consecutive session, drawing roughly $17.1 million. Blackrock's ETHA led with $15.35 million in inflows. Ether ETF net assets closed at $17.69 billion with trading activity totaling $698.35 million.

Solana ETFs brought in $12.70 million on Monday, with Bitwise's BSOL accounting for $9.65 million. Solana ETF net assets reached $1.93 billion. XRP ETFs added $3.96 million through Canary's XRPC, closing with net assets of $1.68 billion.

Zcash moved in the opposite direction, with Grayscale's ZCSH recording an $8.12 million outflow after three sessions without net movement. Zcash ETF net assets fell to $926.84 million.

Institutional Demand Amid Market Pressures

According to Lacie Zhang, research lead at Bitget Wallet, the recent bitcoin price pullback appears driven by macro forces including higher Treasury yields, a stronger dollar, and profit-taking following the recent rally. Despite the slowdown in daily inflows—from nearly $1 billion at the start of last week to $31 million on Monday—Zhang noted that U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs remain net buyers, suggesting institutional demand continues to provide support.

Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas highlighted the significance of ETFs in broadening bitcoin access through traditional wealth-management channels. He noted that trusted issuers such as Blackrock and Fidelity have made bitcoin exposure more accessible for financial advisers, many of whom are beginning with modest portfolio allocations. Balchunas stated this development opens approximately $40 trillion in advisory assets to bitcoin investment.
