U.S. bitcoin ETFs opened Monday with $526.60 million in net inflows, more than twice the $229 million in outflows recorded during the previous week. The surge marked a sharp reversal in institutional sentiment, driven almost entirely by a single fund.
BlackRock's IBIT attracted $665.16 million on Monday, its largest single-day inflow in 2026. The inflow was substantial enough to overcome simultaneous withdrawals from competing bitcoin ETFs: $83.63 million from Fidelity's FBTC and $54.93 million from Grayscale's GBTC.
Bitcoin ETF trading volume reached $2.09 billion on Monday, while net assets across all bitcoin ETFs closed at $105.46 billion. The single day's inflows erased the entire previous week's deficit within hours.
Ethereum and Solana Under Pressure
The strength in bitcoin did not extend to other cryptocurrencies. Ether ETFs lost another $103.28 million, with BlackRock's ETHA accounting for $95.40 million of the outflow. Fidelity's FETH shed $5.96 million, and Grayscale's ETHE lost $1.92 million. Ethereum ETF net assets fell to $14.77 billion.
Ether ETFs have now experienced significant outflows over consecutive periods. Last week saw $320 million in withdrawals, followed by the nine-figure exit on Monday. The contrast with bitcoin's recovery suggests institutional investors are being selective about where they rebuild crypto exposure.
Solana ETFs recorded their 11th consecutive day of outflows. Bitwise's BSOL lost $4.88 million and Fidelity's FSOL shed $1.84 million, producing a combined $6.72 million net exit. Solana ETF net assets closed at $1.63 billion.
Mixed Signals Among Altcoin Funds
NEAR continued to attract capital despite broader market pressure, with Bitwise's NRR fund adding $5.42 million and lifting net assets to $86.95 million. Zcash funds recorded $10.45 million in outflows through Grayscale's ZCSH. XRP and HYPE ETFs recorded no net flows.
BlackRock Expands Bitcoin Product Lineup
BlackRock filed Monday for the iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF, proposed under the ticker PBIT. The actively managed fund would use options linked to IBIT to offer capped upside exposure alongside downside protection, expanding the ways institutional investors can access bitcoin.
