Bitcoin, Ether ETFs Pull In $2.6B in Strongest Week Since October

U.S. spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds drew a combined $2.62 billion in net inflows between August 17 and August 21, marking the strongest weekly result for the category since October 2025. Institutional demand also extended to solana, XRP, and HYPE funds as capital broadened across the digital asset market.

Bitcoin ETFs Lead the Surge

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in net inflows for the week, attracting fresh capital in every trading session. Inflows began with $297.56 million on Monday and $189.30 million on Tuesday, before accelerating as bitcoin moved above $70,000. Wednesday added $517.19 million, Thursday recorded the largest single-day haul at $606.29 million, and Friday contributed $307.45 million.

Blackrock’s IBIT dominated the weekly figures with $1.33 billion in inflows. Other notable contributors included Fidelity’s FBTC with $293.1 million, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB with $126.9 million, and Bitwise’s BITB with $87.3 million. Additional inflows came from the Bitcoin Mini Trust, Morgan Stanley’s MSBT, and Grayscale’s GBTC, while Vaneck’s HODL experienced outflows of $16.1 million.

Total bitcoin ETF trading volume reached $22.1 billion for the week, more than triple the prior week’s $6.9 billion. Assets under management for the funds increased by 25% to $96.07 billion, with price gains driving the majority of the weekly increase. Sosovalue noted that bitcoin's $1.92 billion inflow represented roughly 2.0% of its asset base.

Ether and Altcoin Funds Gain Momentum

Ether ETFs mirrored bitcoin's performance by finishing every session in positive territory, collecting $697.18 million for the week. Daily inflows grew steadily from $30.85 million on Monday to $220.77 million on Thursday, closing the week with $184.93 million on Friday. Sosovalue highlighted that ether's inflows equaled approximately 4.9% of its $14.29 billion asset base, reflecting strong proportional demand that coincided with a price move from around $1,900 to as high as $2,546.

Altcoin funds also finished the week in positive territory. XRP ETFs attracted $39.78 million, solana funds added $28.34 million, and HYPE ETFs recorded $3.89 million in net inflows.
