Bitcoin Faces $84,000 Resistance as Analysts Debate Path to $125K

Bitcoin is currently consolidating around $82,000 after rebounding from dips below $80,000, with traders watching the $84,000 level as a critical resistance point. The cryptocurrency faces immediate uncertainty as it attempts to sustain its recovery above this key threshold.

Key Resistance Levels

Analyst Daan Crypto Trade emphasized that bitcoin must reclaim and consolidate above $84,000 in the coming trading days to maintain momentum. Failure to hold this level could expose the asset to further downside pressure. A successful push above $84,000 would place the $87,000–$88,000 range back in focus as the next target.

The repeated struggles around $84,000 follow a decline toward $80,000, during which weakening buyer pressure has intensified market uncertainty. Additional pressure came from a higher-than-expected September CPI reading this week, which weighed on broader market sentiment.

Longer-Term Scenarios

Analyst EGRAG CRYPTO presented a scenario in which bitcoin could experience a significant pullback before resuming its advance. Drawing comparisons to a 2023 price pattern, the analyst noted that a 22% correction from current levels would reach approximately $68,000. Under this framework, $84,800 represents a critical support level, while $68,000 could serve as a shakeout zone before a potential move toward $114,000–$125,000, contingent on the broader market structure remaining intact.

Mixed Technical Signals

Bitcoin has maintained levels above its 50-week moving average for several consecutive weeks, a metric some analysts cite as evidence the recovery is still on track. However, the asset has repeatedly failed to break through the $86,000–$89,000 resistance region. Recent data showed more than $1 billion in profits were realized after bitcoin last climbed above $87,000.

CryptoGoos offered a different approach, focusing on the percentage of bitcoin supply in profit as a guide for accumulation and profit-taking strategy. This analyst expects multiple local peaks during the current cycle rather than a single sustained advance.
