Bitcoin Holds $83,000 Support as Sequans Completes Treasury Exit

Bitcoin traded near $84,165 on Saturday, September 26, down roughly 33.2% from its October 2025 price record of $126,080. The cryptocurrency held above $83,000 support after a pullback, with daily moving averages retaining 13 bullish readings.

Over seven days, Bitcoin rose 3.64%, and 8.85% across two weeks. Market capitalization stood near $1.69 trillion, with daily volume at $27.86 billion.

Sequans Completes Bitcoin Exit

NYSE-listed Sequans Communications sold its final 34 BTC in September and ended its corporate treasury strategy. The company now reports no crypto assets on its balance sheet and no outstanding debt, except obligations tied to government-funded research programs.

The staged exit began in May, when Sequans used bitcoin to redeem convertible debt. Holdings fell from 658 BTC in May to 314 BTC by June 30, before the final September sale. CEO Georges Karam said the company monetized its holdings carefully and would focus on a semiconductor growth strategy, noting that Q2 product revenue rose more than 80% year over year.

The company framed the move as balance-sheet restructuring, not a bearish view of bitcoin. Other public companies have pursued different strategies: Strive reached 25,000 BTC this month and bought 1,355 more last week, while Strategy resumed purchases in late August and last week after summer sales.

Dormant Supply and Support Levels

Analyst Crypto Patel reported that 16.3 million BTC, approximately 81% of circulating supply, had not moved for over six months. Long-term holders added more than three million BTC since 2020, while roughly 300,000 BTC moved from older wallets in the first half of 2026.

Retail holders sold about 140,000 BTC in the first half of 2026 and bought back more than 107,000 BTC in the third quarter.

For price levels, $83,000 represents the immediate support to monitor. A break below it could expose support between $80,000 and $81,144. Resistance lies between $85,500 and $86,000; reclaiming that zone would put the prior $87,374 rejection back in view. Bitcoin's 24-hour range ran from $83,230 to $84,662 after rejection at $87,374.
