Bitcoin has steadied at approximately $84,000 after a period of volatility that saw the cryptocurrency swing between $80,300 and $87,300 over the past several days.
The primary cryptocurrency dropped to $80,300 on Sunday before recovering. Bulls pushed the market higher on Monday, driving Bitcoin to $87,000—its highest level since late January. However, resistance at $87,300 proved difficult to overcome, and the asset retreated to $84,000 by Wednesday morning. The support level held, and Bitcoin rebounded to $85,000 on Friday before settling at its current range. Bitcoin's market capitalization stands at $1.680 trillion, while its dominance over altcoins has slipped to 58.6%.
Several mid-cap altcoins have captured market attention during the period. Ethena's ENA surged 24% in 24-hour trading, following a partnership announcement with Binance. Other significant gainers include CC, SUI, and PUMP, which posted double-digit percentage increases. Additional performers include AERO and STX.
Conversely, some assets declined. Zcash (ZEC) retreated 4% to $1,525, while Monero (XMR) fell 2.6% to $553. Ripple (XRP), Ethereum (ETH), and BNB also posted minor losses, though Solana (SOL), Chainlink (LINK), and Uniswap (UNI) gained modestly.
The combined cryptocurrency market capitalization remained near previous levels at $2.880 trillion.
