Bitcoin's price behavior remains relatively calm over the weekend, with the asset grinding toward the $85,000 level after successfully defending the $83,000 support level on Friday.
Earlier in the week, the largest cryptocurrency surged from the $80,000 support level, breaking through major resistance to top $87,000 for the first time in eight months. Following a subsequent rejection and a drop to $83,000, bulls stepped in to prevent further downward movement. BTC rebounded and now sits just below $85,000, bringing its market capitalization to $1.7 trillion with a dominance of 58.6%.
Altcoin Market Movements
While Bitcoin hovers near $85,000, several altcoins have posted notable gains. Quant (QNT) emerged as the top gainer among the largest 100 altcoins, surging significantly to over $190 before pulling back to $160. The increase follows an announcement that The Clearing House selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative.
Other digital assets also recorded positive daily momentum, including WLD, PYTH, GRAM, RAY, and ZEC, which climbed over 8% to sit above $1,650. Assets such as NEAR, SOL, ETH, BNB, LINK, and HYPE saw moderate increases, while XRP, DOGE, and TRX registered minor losses. The total cryptocurrency market capitalization increased slightly to $2.910 trillion.
