Bitcoin has reclaimed ground above $78,000 over the weekend, continuing its recovery after slipping below $77,000 on Friday. As of Sunday morning, BTC traded at $78,150, with its market capitalization rising approximately $15 billion in a day to reach $1.570 trillion.
The decline on Friday followed a hawkish speech at Jackson Hole, which interrupted Bitcoin's previous upward momentum. The asset had reached $81,500 on Thursday morning—its highest level in 15 weeks—before the correction occurred.
Altcoin Performance
Most larger-cap altcoins posted modest gains, though several key tokens remain below significant resistance levels. Ethereum trades slightly above $2,450 but remains below the $2,500 mark. Binance Coin eyes the $700 level, while XRP continues to struggle with the $1.40 threshold.
Uniswap emerged as the strongest performer among major altcoins, surging 11% to $4.90. Other gainers included Cosmos and Pump, while ENA posted the largest decline, losing 3.3% of its value.
Notable Token Movements
Pi Network's native token slipped below the $0.09 support level on Friday but has since recovered above $0.091. The broader cryptocurrency market capitalization added approximately $30 billion daily and now stands at $2.740 trillion. Bitcoin's market dominance over altcoins has risen to 58%.
