Bitcoin Recovers to $83K After Week of Volatility; NEAR Leads Altcoin Gains

Bitcoin has recovered to approximately $83,000 after experiencing significant volatility throughout the week. The asset dropped to a multi-week low below $80,500 before reversing course, marking a near-$7,000 swing in just days.

The week began with optimism as Bitcoin reached $87,000 on Monday morning before facing selling pressure at that level. The cryptocurrency subsequently declined to $85,000, then fell further to under $84,000 on Tuesday. Bears maintained control through Wednesday and Thursday, pushing the asset to its weakest point before the recent recovery.

Bitcoin's market capitalization has pulled back to $1.660 trillion, though its dominance over altcoins has increased to 59.5%.

Mixed Performance Across Altcoins

Ethereum has recovered slightly to nearly $2,500 after dipping to $2,400 during the market decline, though it remains below its recent local high of $2,800. XRP rebounded to $1.41 from a low of $1.34, while BNB returned to $750.

NEAR Protocol's native token led gains among larger-cap altcoins, rising more than 10% to $5.25. Cardano's ADA gained 7% to reclaim the $0.255 level. Polkadot, Worldcoin, and other tokens also posted notable gains, while Solana, Tron, and Hyperliquid faced slight declines.

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization rebounded slightly to $2.8 trillion after shedding $200 billion during the market downturn.
