US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $526.6 million in net inflows on October 19, marking their largest single-day haul since September 22. Despite the strong headline figure, the vast majority of the capital was captured by a single fund.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) brought in $665.2 million independently, making it the only Bitcoin ETF to record positive flows that day. In contrast, Fidelity’s FBTC saw $83.6 million leave the fund, and Grayscale’s GBTC lost $54.9 million. Total trading volume across all spot Bitcoin products reached $2.09 billion on October 19, with total net assets standing at $105.46 billion, representing roughly 6.4% of Bitcoin’s overall market capitalization.
The large inflow helped narrow October's monthly deficit for Bitcoin ETFs to approximately $90 million following a rougher patch earlier in the month. Since launching in January 2024, cumulative net inflows for the spot Bitcoin ETFs have reached $57.40 billion.
Ethereum and Solana Funds Face Outflows
While Bitcoin products saw strong net positive movement, Ethereum spot ETFs moved in the opposite direction, recording $103.3 million in net outflows on October 19 and extending a multi-day streak of redemptions. BlackRock’s ETHA led those outflows by accounting for $95.4 million of the total, meaning the same issuer that dominated Bitcoin inflows also topped the Ethereum outflow chart. Solana spot ETFs also recorded net outflows on the same day.
