Bitdeer Technologies announced a five-year offtake agreement on August 19, securing approximately $400 million in contracted revenue for its artificial intelligence cloud business. The deal covers roughly half of the capacity at the company's new data center in Malaysia.

The agreement involves a customer who will prepay more than 50% of the associated capital expenditures. Services are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, meaning the contract will not contribute revenue in 2026.

Inside the A102 Facility

The agreement centers on Bitdeer's A102 site, a liquid-cooled AI cloud data center equipped with NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems, which are NVIDIA's latest rack-scale GPU systems designed for data hosting and GPU cloud services.

The A102 facility has a total capacity of 9.5 MW, with the new agreement covering about 50% of that total. According to the company, the remaining capacity is drawing interest from additional customers, potentially opening the door for a second major offtake agreement at the site.

Bitdeer selected Malaysia for the project due to factors including power availability and closeness to the growing Southeast Asian enterprise AI market.

Broader Expansion Plans

The Malaysia agreement supports Bitdeer AI's wider strategy to build up to 350 MW of AI-ready data center capacity by the first quarter of 2028. The company intends to finance this expansion using operating cash flow, customer prepayments, and contracted financing.

Bitdeer AI's active pipeline surpasses $2 billion, accounting for roughly 24.5 MW of extra capacity beyond already committed projects. Negotiations continue for unallocated spaces at the A102 site as well as planned global locations spanning the United States and Norway. As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Bitdeer maintains access to NVIDIA's hardware.

Bitdeer was founded in 2021 as a spin-off from Bitmain and is co-founded by Jihan Wu. The NASDAQ-listed firm trades under the ticker BTDR as it expands its infrastructure operations beyond Bitcoin mining.
