Bitget, a major universal exchange platform, has broadened its Open API to include Contracts for Difference (CFDs), giving algorithmic and quantitative traders programmatic access to global markets including gold, forex, stock indices, and crude oil alongside cryptocurrency assets.
The expansion addresses a practical gap for traders managing strategies across multiple asset classes. Previously, traders operating in both crypto and traditional markets often required separate systems, data connections, and execution workflows. With the CFD Open API, existing Bitget API users can now extend their strategy frameworks to CFD markets without establishing separate connections for those assets.
Through the expanded API, users can automate order execution, retrieve account and real-time market data, transfer funds, and configure trading parameters such as take-profit and stop-loss settings. This enables API users to manage programmatic strategies across both crypto and CFD markets through a single infrastructure.
The CFD Open API supports multiple CFD account modes, with users required to use the appropriate instrument code corresponding to their current account configuration when placing orders.
The expansion reflects Bitget's broader investment in infrastructure for professional and institutional trading as it diversifies beyond cryptocurrency offerings. By extending API connectivity alongside its growing multi-asset platform, the exchange is working to provide users with more integrated access to both crypto and traditional market exposure.
