Bittensor Rallies 20% Toward Resistance as Supply Tightens and Institutional Access Expands

Bittensor (TAO) has surged nearly 20% to around $320, approaching a major resistance zone at $350–$360. The rally comes as the network's emission schedule tightens following its December 2025 halving and subnet revenues show measurable growth.

Bittensor Rallies 20% Toward Resistance as Supply Tightens and Institutional Access Expands

Bittensor (TAO) has climbed nearly 20% to trade around $315, pushing the token toward a major resistance band in the $350–$360 range. The advance marks a significant move for TAO, which remains well below its previous peak near $760.

Supply Reduction Underway

TAO operates with a fixed maximum supply of 21 million tokens, controlled through a halving mechanism. The first halving occurred in December 2025, reducing the emission rate from 1 TAO to 0.5 TAO per block, approximately 3,600 TAO daily. Current issuance stands at around 11.2 million TAO. The next halving threshold is reached at 15.75 million total issuance, after which the emission rate falls to 0.25 TAO per block.

The tightening supply schedule creates a structural reduction in new TAO entering the market over time, though price gains require corresponding demand growth to absorb new issuance.

Subnet Economy Shows Revenue Growth

Bittensor's commercial viability increasingly depends on its subnet economy generating demand independent of token issuance. A September revenue index covering 24 subnets estimated $28 million to $35 million in annualized external revenue from services including GPU compute, AI inference, enterprise applications, and software. While this figure is an estimate rather than audited data, it provides a measurable benchmark for ecosystem commercial activity.

Institutional Products Expand Access

Institutional exposure to TAO has grown through structured investment vehicles. Grayscale's Bittensor Trust continues issuing shares through private placements. An SEC filing dated September 15 reported 148,800 shares issued against 2,814.13 TAO, valued at approximately $650,589. The filing showed 2,842,300 Trust shares outstanding as of that date.

Grayscale has also filed registration documents for a proposed Bittensor ETF structure designed to hold TAO and provide market exposure, though regulatory filings do not constitute confirmation of approval or launch.

Price Action and Technical Levels

TAO's daily chart shows price breaking above a short-term descending trendline and moving toward the $350–$360 resistance zone. A daily close above that area would strengthen the breakout structure and eliminate the immediate ceiling constraining previous recovery attempts. The next major upside reference would be the previous cycle high near $760.

The $300–$315 region represents the first area bulls must defend if profit-taking emerges following the vertical advance. A sustained move back below the breakout area would weaken the setup and increase the possibility of renewed range-bound trading.

Path to $1,000

At $315, TAO would require approximately 217% gains to reach $1,000, moving well above its previous record and establishing a new all-time high. Such a move would depend on three key variables: continued supply reduction through the emission schedule, sustained growth in subnet usage and customer revenue, and expanded institutional access through approved investment products.
