Bittensor's network is experiencing rising competition within its AI ecosystem, as evidenced by climbing registration costs and shifting subnet dynamics. Registration fees have increased from September's low of 460.6 TAO tokens to 884.4 TAO, creating a steeper barrier to entry for new participants seeking subnet access on the network.
With limited subnet slots constrained by network capacity, this cost elevation reflects strong demand for access to the ecosystem. Well-funded teams may have better positioning to compete, while smaller builders face increasingly difficult entry conditions.
Subnet Pricing and Emission Concentration
Average subnet prices have remained between 1.2 to 1.29 TAO under Bittensor's Dynamic TAO mechanism, which assigns each subnet its own token and TAO-backed liquidity pool. These prices reflect market valuation of subnet-specific exposure.
A notable trend has emerged among top-performing subnets. Subnet SN51 is reportedly capturing a growing share of daily emissions among the top 10 subnets, which may reflect stronger performance or attractive incentives but highlights the risk of concentrated rewards in the ecosystem.
Technical Outlook
On the price chart, TAO has been moving between two major trendlines for an extended period. A bullish technical scenario would involve a breakout above the descending trendline, with potential targets cited at $600, $900, and $1400. However, chart projections represent possibilities rather than guarantees. Any significant price movement would likely depend on capital rotation back into AI-related cryptocurrency assets and a confirmed technical breakout sustaining above resistance levels.
