Hyperliquid has experienced significant market movement, drawing attention from industry analysts. Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, has shared an optimistic outlook for the asset, pointing to strong investor demand and rising institutional adoption as key drivers.
HYPE has recorded notable price appreciation, doubling from its March 28 level of $39.20 to $80.32 by September 12, marking a 205% increase and bringing its market capitalization to $20.24 billion.
Super-App Ambitions and Multi-Asset Support
Hougan attributes his long-term outlook to Hyperliquid's evolution beyond its origins as a crypto perpetual futures exchange. The platform is expanding its ecosystem to accommodate traditional financial assets, including equities, S&P 500 futures, and commodities.
This strategy aligns with broader financial trends toward all-inclusive financial platforms, or "super apps," designed to host multiple investment instruments under a unified framework.
Global Regulation and U.S. Market Integration
Another factor cited by the Bitwise CIO is the platform's approach to regulation. Hyperliquid is working to offer global multi-asset-class trading exposure while preparing for integration into the U.S. regulatory framework through collaboration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Hougan suggests that regulatory compliance and enforcement will support broader global adoption as the platform continues to mature.
